samaritan community: covid-19 statement
Updated March 23, 2020

The health and well-being of those at Samaritan Community and our community-at-large is our number one priority. We are taking COVID-19 (coronavirus) very seriously and are taking steps to minimize the threat of COVID-19 to our members, staff, volunteers, and the greater community. This will be balanced with continuing to provide critical basic necessities – food, clothing, help accessing medical care/prescriptions etc. – to some of Baltimore’s most vulnerable communities. Therefore, we will continue to serve existing members on a limited basis. Until further notice, please note the following:

- Staff will be conducting special cleaning procedures during this time to minimize exposure and spread of infectious disease

- Group meetings and clubs are cancelled

- Our food pantry will be making food deliveries (practicing social distancing) instead of holding individual appointments

- Individual counseling and case management sessions will be done over the phone instead of through individual appointments

We also ask that if you are feeling ill or have been in contact with somebody with COVID-19 to kindly refrain from coming to Samaritan Community. If you need to speak with a member of our staff, please call 410.669.1229.

When our services and hours are back to normal, we will happily communicate that. Until then, thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this extraordinary time. Please know we remain as committed as ever to doing all we can for people in Baltimore who are in crisis.
